Answer:  The Old Methodist Church and the Old Baptist Church

The Old Methodist Church
The Old Methodist Church was one of the first in the Republic of Texas.  Isaac Strickland established a Methodist Congregation here under the direction of Elder Littleton Fowler in 1838.  Strickland made Montgomery his headquarters.  Four early circuit riders are buried in the Old Montgomery Cemetery (the site of the first sanctuary).  Two more sanctuaries were build in 1852 and 1908 before moving to it's new location in 2002.  The Bells of Montgomery is located where the Old Methodist Church once sat.  It is presently used as a wedding chapel.

The Old Baptist Church
In 1850, Baptists organized a fellowship in Montgomery and purchased the land at this location.  In 1853, Reverend Thomas Chilton was the church's first full-time pastor.  The building came to a completion in 1902 and was used for the next 77 years as a place to worship for Baptists in Montgomery.  It is located right next to the Methodist Church.

The next site the last clue the passer by gave us led us right over to the other lot. You can still smell the dead cat. While i was looking at the churches there was a note from somebody named G. The note said, "Just saw a black dog running around, theres tracks around the whole church  Heres something that might help you find it! The hallway to this house Harbors tales that should be told Only go there If you are brave and bold." Well looks like we just missed Gus!  I have the next riddle so follow me!
